LPMS / CPMS

As part of the NIHR CRN Digital Innovation programme, the activity data related to setup and delivery of research is now captured using Local Portfolio Management Systems (LPMS) from across the UK. The data is automatically transferred to the Central Portfolio Management System (CPMS) every night.

The objectives of portfolio management system are to:

• Unify research data collected across the nation. A minimum set of data is required from all research sites, nationally.
• Monitor research activity linked to geographical location
• Identify participant type recruited to research studies
• Avoid duplication of data collected from research sites

LPMS utilised by trusts across Thames Valley & South Midlands network is supported by programme suite dedicated to research setup and research delivery.

• Research setup - Studyline manages the project setup and approval processes and is used by Sponsors, University research services departments, NHS sites and review bodies
• Research delivery - Siteline manages activity related to research delivery that is integral to CRN's objectives as outlined above. The platform is used by researchers, research support staff, hospital staff, GPs, & community workers.

Chief investigators/CROs/sponsor representatives can confirm the recruitment activity directly on CPMS on a regular basis.
